RULES of the RIDE

1     Fill up with fuel before leaving the meeting point or before arriving at the first stop. 2     A Road Captian will lead the group. Do not overtake the Road Captian. 3     Always ride in a stagger formation. There should be 2 seconds between you and the motorcycle in        front of you, and 1 second between you and motorcycle in the opposite column. 4     Once the stagger has been established, hold your position relative to the bikes around you. 5     If the stagger gets out of sync, advance in the column to fill the opening; but do not change column. 6     The blocking of intersections is an illegal act and if you elect to do so, you are on your own. 7     Sometimes vehicles need to pass through our formation to exit or enter the roadway. If you are next        to a vehicle that is signaling a lane change, back off the throttle and let them pass through the        formation. Once they are gone, close the gap back up. 8     If you leave with the group, don't stray. If you go your own way, you may end up with riders behind        you, following you to destinations unknown. 9     If during the ride, you need fuel; take advantage of any planned stop along the ride. Please don't        break formation to refuel. 10   If your bike should suffer a malfunction, pull off to the side of the road, well clear of the roadway.        A Road Captian will stop to render assistance. The remainder of the group will continue to the        destination. 11   Road Captians may advise you on group riding etiquette. Please accept it in the manner it is intended.        The Road Captians primary concern is the safety of the group. 12   Riders who violate these rules and present themselves as irresponsible :         First offense      =  verbal warning         Second Offense =  exclusion from the remainder of the ride.         Third offense     = rider will bring proof of completion of the Advanced Rider's Safety Course                                      before being allowed to join in group rides. 13   Invited guests will ride at the end of the formation. 14   As well as having a Road Captian lead, one will be in the middle and one will be the last bike in the        formation,  (as possible) 15   If you have any questions on group rides, ask a Road Captian.
